About

Watermelon BlogMolly Norton is a dinner party enthusiast, Salon.com and SMITH Mag contributor, former global event planner, menu analyst, and mother. When comparing her to Renée Zellweger, NYT best-selling author Beth Lisick called her “equally spunky.”  She loves the way good food and wine bring people together to promote the exchange of ideas. The way food acts as a conduit for meaningful dialogue. She also loves Portland, Ore with a passion that burns like a thousand white-hot suns.

She spent her formative years in a double-wide trailer on a farm in rural Colorado surrounded by chickens and horses and pumpkins and an abundance of rhubarb. She’s been an event planner for an international consulting firm as well as a menu analyst for a major hotel group. In her youth, she traveled internationally as a professional performer/playwright and waited tables (badly).

She loves bringing together interesting people, Big Ideas, strong chai, and good (inexpensive) wine.
